Strengths and Areas for Development

Task 1 Devising Workshops and Rehearsal Process – DVD/Observations


Grading criteria 3 and 4 of the Devising Unit = Distinction
You responded positively to group ideas with enthusiasm. You demonstrated a high degree of support for other group members by asking relevant questions to extend original ideas from others.
Tutor observation records show you were responding to ideas passionately and with enthusiasm in order for the group to achieve its aims.

Grading criteria D2 of the TIE Unit = Distinction 
You explored ideas in a self-reliant and imaginative way and were able to consider the need for material to both educate and entertain, balancing these requirements in a creative manner.

Rehearsals & Workshops - Strengths
You were an increasingly confident contributor to the process who maintained energy and enthusiasm when difficulties were faced.
Rehearsals & Workshops – Skills Development
You need to continue building your confidence in your own directorial ideas. Ensure you are contributing all you have to offer early in the process in groups of all sizes.

You identified how you developed the stimuli and offered other ideas on how you could develop it further. You also provided alternative suggestions for realising the piece which included narrative, character or structural ideas.

You provided a description of your ideas for a TIE performance, both within your blog and via a Powerpoint presentation that provided reasons for your choices. You also identified factors that made your proposed project suitable for the target audience.

You considered the practical constraints of touring a production, deadlines, the availability of resources, professional conduct and the constraints & consideration required to work effectively in a different space/s. You demonstrated a capable and well-organised approach to your work, meeting deadlines and producing appropriate documentation.

You need to evidence that you identified potential problems and were able to provide well thought out solutions.

You were able to perform a devised theatre piece accurately communicating your style and intentions to the target audience. The DVD evidence shows excellent use of voice, body, materials and/or props to communicate your ideas, fully engaging the target audience.

You made positive, effective contributions to the performance and proved instrumental in the success of the production. You made imaginative use of vocal and movement skills responding to and communicating with the audience in a creative manner. Your production skills were used with flair, your contribution to the ensemble movement style employed made a significant contribution to the success of the production

Strengths – You are such a committed member of any group you work with, maintaining focus at all times. You have shown the ability to lead and sustain group direction and morale.

 Development – You need to ensure you pay attention to your blog throughout the process. You don’t work as well when you feel under pressure and need to ensure that you avoid postponing the written work. Attention to the presentation and style of the blog will support your progression in this area.
