TIE research

TIE which stands for theater in education are organisations that help schools opertunity to social grow and a chance to perform they do this by relating there workshops and performances to lessons and adding criteria from the  curriculum our TIE performance teaches them that you should never give up and that working hard makes a difference to getting what u want also that manners are easy to come by . we have also used techniques from Brecht  and this will help them when devising there own theater pieces.
Tie was formed in 1965 by actor Roger Chapman at the Belgrade Theater Coventry. It was one of the first Theaters to be built after the 2nd world war.
Many TIE groups visit schools or youth centers to either make awareness like fire safety or similar as they go to teach specific skills like improvisation ,public speaking, confidence and social skills. our TIE performance teaches them that you should never give up and that working hard makes a difference to getting what u want also that manners are easy to come by . we have also used techniques from Brecht  and this will help them when devising there own theater pieces. we also used a visual stimulus  in the form of a picture with a political feature from this they have to create freeze frames and a short impro piece about what happening in the photo. i think that tie is great and that drama should be used more in everyday lesson like English for kids who have a disability or dyslexia as its shown visual involvement can be a better way of learning.

From the research i have done by looking at different schools and youth centers  i think it would be best to mainly focus on schools like Davidson school and Portslade community college as they both like the arts and i think they would benefit from us coming in and help with there gcses and give them a better understanding of what our college has to offer.
also i see from TIE experiences in the past that it would be good for us to also receive feedback about our performances. and i think using the suitcase in our performance will work well with both school curriculum  as this is what they are getting ready to use i know for a fact that pcc has  a brilliant lighting and staging facility perfect for what we need to do and so does Davidson  also i think having been given the chance to adapt our story lines and given the chance to modernize will help us hook the younger teen audiences. with the blend of fairy tale and panto making it light hearted we will not only be able to teach them skills we will also be able to show a message to our class. other people in my class are using physical theater so this would be really fun to teach them like frantic assembly specially after doing research they have a new show out. this would be very fun relevant to theater now a days this is typical of something involving t TIE.

maybe we could teach them a short part of our pieces and get them  to adapt a ending to it.
overall i think TIE should be used more in the curriculum and and the arts should be equally balanced with other subjects like maths science and English as not all people are academic.

11th december

today was the day of  our TIE performance  and the finale time we would have to work on it or rehearse we had finally managed to finish the piece last night after hours of hard work we finally felt confident with the storyline that it was now clear well clearer than before . to make the story line clearer we had to make changes and the one problem we had was my character she was to mysterious for a serious piece and we need to make her more realistic and   i needed to develop my character for the story to fit now we had two options we either scrap my character and create a narrator or simply make my character speak but under no circumstance was i going to stay the same as i was i felt stupid a ristricted in my part as the muted lady and i needed to develop i wanted to scrap the idea and create a narrator maybe this was because i had had enough of my character but i felt this would have been the simplest road to go down however this would completely change the storyline and would have the negative affect on the other characters with interaction as my part was such a solid role with dylans charecter this could not work as it would take the puprouse of the storyline away also  we didnt have time for this we needed to sort this out fast i then looked at how i could inc operate talking to my character and give her a meaning i did this by suggesting to the group that we make her a friend of the step mum this would then explain why they are linked and how they know each other and attach me to the story line i then needed to thathom why i was powerful so i took the suggestion of being a hypthepyst and this is to how Lauren charecer new me it also added the mysterious feel of superstition and the unknown making it ok to have a slightly confusing storline because the audience could be left in the stoyline of the unknown i think by making it like this it makes my character more stylized  and more threatening which it what we wanted to happen we want the audience to feel how Dylan feels throughout unclear and slightly on edge.

i think using the bored with the text messages worked well as it gave a visual stimulus like our wokshop and again added style taking ideas from brecht. using brecht also kept this area of the pice clean and clear leavig other areas to question the audience.
in the future if we had more time to work on it i think we would have liked to have worked on a peice of frantic pysical theartre maybe an argument between the step mum and dylan as i very much enjoyed the workshop and the  beutiful burnought show.
i dont think the ending was clear having us shout worrds then having dylan wake up  however we went with this becuase we foundit powerful and quite chillin and i quite like the idea that the ending is not clear it opens the question of did this really happen.

and we are showing durrington huig school
the first group we had we quite and would only be watching our performances i feel this performance out of the two was the strongest and as a group we were slicker with our scene changes and dialogue the feedback we got was positive  they said " that the story line was clear and the chercterisation and the way the story flowed was very good" we took this as a development form what we had hear previous.
our second part of the day was our workshops we all had a go and our group focused on a picture  of somthing political and we asked them to create a freeze frame and then rewind form this scene and creat a freese frame before this picture was taken this would come in handy for when they are devising  a performace. the group was very shy and the teacher tld us from feedback that one girl from his class never participated in class at all  and that she enjoyed the frantic chari workshop.

we then did our second performance to the same class and we again got positve feedback and they to enjoyed and enjoyed the brecht sighns and use of transistions between scenes.

what i liked and felt went well with our performance
i think the scenes flowed well and are transistions were goood i think this is becasue we reduced our prop use and used freeseframes to set the next scene. using this techniques enables control over the scene transition as its your choice when to start the scene.

if i were to do TIE devising again i think i  would change who i worked with as i felt somtimes the group got distracted anf i found it exhausting trying to keep focus i also   think we could have developed it by takeing it to a darker place and maybe adding a twist to our performance maybe the mother could be a syco killer or not actually wih the dad and only pretending i think i would also ads some more frantic assembly especially the dance movement in beautiful burnout. i would also make it longer and have included the audicne more and has them sitting  aroung the stage .

health and saftey and organisation

we had to make sure we knew the schools regulations and that we sighned in and made our self known to the teachers of the lesson and made sure we knew the rules smoking on campus and firebell regulations this is very important when touring and when touring again i think its good be aware of your surroundings.
i think if we toured again i would keep the use of the suitcase as it kept touring simple and small bacause there was less to carry  whilst traveling and it kept out performance simple letting us use more basic techniques like the sighn posts with the riddles on them simple but affective.

deadline
having a deadline ment we had to keep pace to it however we found with our performace due to the amount of time we had it started to lack energy and we ran out of ideas as most of our work was done right at the beggining we didnt notice things were not working like the story line was confusing  till the end so having a deadline is good but i would have preffered  smaller deadline. also it would have made us notice the problems before them happened . maybe we should have made ourselfs smaller deadlines before the finale.

10th december

my group rehersed during our dance lesson and after college our peice needed alot of work after thinking we had sorted it out rachel watched and desided it still didnt make so we dicided to start from scratch for this i took lead of the group and tried to keep the group spirit positive.
we looked at the game sims and how this could be used in our performance and we also looked  at irish and celtic storsys and how we could coperate this after working on this for a few hours we deicided to go back to our original story line but give me a speaking role and intorduce me at the beggingin of the scene. my charecter has now turned into a couger hympnopherpist and im attracted to dylan and have a thing for him this gave the missing link of who i was and what my job was in the performance.

strengths
we finnaly came up with our fnal story and finished in tieme for the performance we got a lady from art to watch our performace to see if it makes sense she said " the performance is creepy but clear and leaves the option open of a dream reality i really enjoyeed it"
after hearing this we had postive veiw to the performace the next day  we also kept the sighns wich are a technique from brecht using the sighnes wich really stylised our performance.

weakness
i found it hard to keeop the group positive and to keep the rest of the group focused

my personal strenths
i think i stayed focus throughout and dertermined to finish the tie whilst also keeping positive

what needs to be done
we need to keep up our positive vibe we dound in the end and stay in charecter and go witht the story line we need to try to stay focused this can be done with maybe a warm up before we start like a count game.

6th december

in this lesson we showed the year 12 our TIE perfromances this was a great way of getiing points of improvment we were told that that our charecterisation is strong and that my movemnet is stong as i look like im charge of him and that i use every inch of my body when im moving  creating tension

strengths
we have some great ideas included like the voodo lady and outr settings were strong my charecterisation was also good however i could improve this by  maybe speaking .

personal weakness  and development
i feel my charecter is not bonded into the scene and hass no connection to the scene i think this could be improved by me speaking and being more realistic  maybe i could be a hypmotherphist  this would explain why i am so creeepy also i lke the idea of not using chairs i will think this will make the scene transferes quicker and slicker.

notes from year 12

story line unclear we  need to make my charecter more realistic and we need to add a connection to me and a other charecter.

scenes dragged again this will be smoother with no chairs and freeze frames .

we will be arranging time to reherse to look at our story line this is very important
i think i  have now taken lead and the next rehersal i will be putting my ideas foward without feeling shy

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

5th december

after last lesson with rachel she told us our tie performance was a bit confusing so we have lookd at how we can make the story line clearer we are still having this problem this due to us stripping our performance back originally cause there was to much context now we have to little.
firstly we looked at laurens chareter and why they dont  no the area very well so we have decided to make that they have just moved in ny adding a scene we have also cut down the creepy box music scenes as they lagged a bit and ow the performance runs better we have also added in a phone call with the creepy lady and laurens charecter.

scene 1
the scene with dylan and danilla winning the footbal match and winning a feather this has sayed the same as it fits with our modern outcome

scene 2
laurens scene with dylan moving in to the new area and the bet he couldnt get her the bird and that he is useless - this scne explains why he is getting the feather

scene 3

phone call scene with dylan and danile his companion and this will send him on his journey linking the scenes

scene 4

the first scene with creepy woman - music box music playing

scene 5
riddle scene with the mirror and the prop of the text

scene 6
the old creepy woman agian with the music box music

scene 7
him and daniele  about fake tan in superdrug

scene 8 giving up arguement with his mum \

scene 9 the bed scene creepy lady comes in and the spell / dream lasts

scene 10  arguement scene with dylan and lauren

scene 11 phone call scene with lauren and me and creepy music ( i personally believe i should speak in this scene maybe we should try this)

scene 12   he wakes up to discover all was a dream (this needs to be really clear as the audinces may not get this ending we could use a peice of frantic assembly)

scene 13 the end

we thoutht that  making it a dream could mean it could be more artistic and not have to make sense we could play with it more

weakness
we could go to far wih it an the whole scene could be unrealistic

strengths
the whole thing could be really fun

we need to work on our structure this will happen if we keep trying new ideas and re arranging  also we took alot of our original story line out all wee need to do is add more in . we may need to include some of our original storyline like rachel suggested and go back and add things.

22nd

we  phoned up schools i looked up online i contacted them for our tie

list of schools we contacted

portslade community college pacca

ohoned the school unfortuantly they are rehersing for a school show so this no time for this

shorham acadmy
said they were going to get back to me  i gave them my number

sir robert woodard acadmy

said they were intrersted on phone an dtook rachels contact details

plan of action
if we do not hear back we re contact them

21st november

chicago rehersal

we went through all our individual numbers im singing all that jazz with a group number around me and im also in both reached for the gun and razzle dazzle and mumma knows best.

for all that jazz
my main concern i s to concentrate on my singing and vocal contorol and not get hooked up in dance.
basically we keept rehersing the number and each time i feel my vocal is improving.
strengths
my charecter is starting to come through and im feeling alot more confident with my part.
im also solid routine and enjoying the number ,
weakness
vocal projection and remebering lyrics
i need to work on both  of my weakness by ree=hersing and staying carm i will look at my lyrics before i go to bed everynight and reherse when posibble

14th november

we spent the morning working on our ties polishing our timings and adding time to our physical theartre this creates a repition only non when the old lady is around making it a familia factor maybe we could do something like this in our national performance we then used our suitcase and our props and to make sure they would fit i need to now make the backdrop video and we need to get the music on to disc i will have this done by next lesson.
strengths of the lesson
we finally asaw our performance come together well and im starting to play with my character as the old lad i have decided not to do the stereotypical old lady with a walking stick and do a more of the emperor in star wars old but extremely powerful because i think it will make it more fairytale and give me more to do with my charecteristion . my character will now be very strong upright still and patient i will also  have a very serious plane face showing no emotion other that determination . my only concern wich i have informed the group that the story line may be unclear and that my character being muted looks like a after thought i have suggested me speaking but the group is very for this i shall have to see how it goes.

the second half of the lesson i learnt all that jazz routine for the chicago show ans have desided to also sing in the dance show this will give me the chance to gain confidence for chicago and we will rock you in the future .

8th november

we finally finished our tie performance and now looked at props and effects like back drops. in this lesson we filmed the piece to see what we could improve  we observed that there needed to be improvemnet the story line was not clear and the transition betweens scenes  was terrible we needed to go back to the drawing bored and look at how we could do thins we  desided to make laurens charecter the fact and informer character also to make it clear she would now make the story line clear with actually telling the story a bit like she did in the begging-in story . and how the timing went we discovered that that maybe the tension in the piece could be improves so we made the evil scenes slower and more deliberate and slower paced this could be used in we will rock you with the killer queen. we did this by using the creepy juke box muxic the music is slow and we could stay in beat with the music by havving the music it gave pace to the performance.

one of our posts using brecht techniques of only having simple props

25 th october

after learning physical theartre we knew we needed to include this in our performance so this lesson we looked at music and how we could fit it in to our piece we looked at having the old woman not speaking and only being included in physical theartre in a backing track so week looked again how we could do this so we thought we could have the doors and the spell as part of the psychical theartre when the creepy box muxic apears  however when looking at it we didn't want to make it look to stereotypical so we mad it short and chose a peice of music that would fit like a piece of music from a horror film i explained we could use the them song to dead silence or one missed call however this didnt fit with our timings and the idea we wanted so we then looked at music box recordings and found this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCtgTpxgwjc wich worked really well im basically going to be putting Dylan under a spell by using my hand like a witch.
in the bggining scene the dinner scene i infused the idea of putting in more psychical theartre and instead of sitting round a dinning table being on a sofa watching tv so show we are watching tv we will have the xfactor theme tune blaring like a tv sound with the crackling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28ZWuD9eqlw and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK4TYZQkSnc this gave us great ideas as to having a sofa war like seen in normal householder in present time.

stengths of the lesson
i think as a lesson we worked really well we were all presents and we started making alot of leway i think picking the music has really helped create pace for the piece with such a strong beat in the next lesson i think we will develop the movemvent between me and dylan maybe inrease the length.

weakenss of lesson
we found it difficult to crack down on what sort of image we were goign of rin the play at first waisting a bit of time , i dont htink i can ensure most of the rehersals are focused i can only ensure i am focused and point to what i need to be doing i cant make someone else focus .

17th almost colplet

17th
in today's lesson we looked at how we could improve our tie performance we looked at the the  structure of our performance we soon came upon a problem it was difficult to work out how we were going to fit in the quests/riddles and what they were going to be so we looked up ways wich mythological  produced quest and found that riddles would bee a good ideas so we then we  listed the three objects we needed to make the old lady beautiful . we chose a hairbrush a mirror and fake tan . from this we found a riddle for a mirror "You gaze at me and see the world backwards
,
you relize who you are, but its only superficial...

what am I?"

we then thought it would be fun to make our own riddles

"healthy glow i will show fetch me quick dont be slow"

giving the performance originality
we then settled on whether making  it cheesy or just funny we decided to make the riddles for each quest for example the hair brush the fake tan and the mirror.
we also had the problem how we were going to incorporate the riddles into the modern story so we decide on using the text then we had the problem of how were were going to show the riddles to the audience so i suggested a back drop with a clip  with the texts being on there but we agreed this wasn't different and we wanted to try something different so we are going to use posts on boeds with the riddles in text style held up by the step mum . i think this will work well because it is something different and it will be easy for the audience to see and we can also see the back drop.

good parts of the lesson
we worked well as a group and managed to set the structure and story line wich was very important with not a lot of time left.

weak parts of the lesson
we didn't progress with the scenes themselves wich we really need to.

my strengths of the lesson
i worked well in the group i questioned ideas like the backdrop and how we were going to inc-operate the riddles i also created the riddles themselves and worked them in .i kept the group asking why .

my weakness of the lesson
i need to let other people take control and relax when in the group.

24th

24th

today we looked at the frantics assembly performance techniques  and looked at how we could use them in our own performance. I am a trained dancer and i have done lot of different styles and worked with many dfferent choryographers but for me this was completly different and i had to open myself up to different ideas and foget the rulles of dance and look at it ore as a acting peice

we started of in our pairs i was paired with josh and we looked at what theme and message we would like to carry with out acting peice so we descided to have two friends sittig with each other secretly attracted to one anothetr and by the end of the peice coming to realise this . we started of with 3/3 counts and then we did some counts in unison and then in cannon again and we used these techniques to build the tensiion of the scene. we then kept building the peice with more counts and added more levels and turns typical to the frantics work.

we then worked at linking it to the group beofre us to make a chain of scenes and then we filmed im really looking foward to watching this and seeing what worked well and what didnt.
i think we could use this in our dinner scene and instead of having the table in use we will block it so we are on a sofa with me in he middle as a block between the evil step mum and my son and we will use part of the frntics work .

next week we should look at how we will finish this sofa routine and how to make it conect to the scene.

10th oct

today we went over tie (Theartre in education) our main focus for todays rehersal was structuring  and agreeing on the important parts of the scene.
today i sugested the idea of a freeze frame  for the first scene with the narrator coming out of the scene to speake and then joining the freese frame again The narator establishes the scene and story before joining the scnene her self  i then wanted  dylan and the fox. (i put in the idea that the fox should infact be a human companion) and keeps the blance of young versus old. this goes into the idea that  we should modernise the play but keep the oldy worldy fairytales charerteristics like the boy falling in love with the beutiful girl and the evil step mum.  i blocked the scene by having the table in the centre and the  step mum and dad either side of the table like king and queen  intimidating dylan in the middle and showing his lower status (bottem of the food chain).

we sorted out our production commitments to-
media ie the back drop i will be in charge of the back scenary like superdrug and the castle they infact live in.
music /sound - i will be trying to get somthing scary like halloween music and somthing with violins and chellos

i have also researched schools that can be used for our performance ie  i have looked at portslade aldridge community acadmy . here would be perfect as they have a strong performing arts department and the school is in a underprivliged area it would also benifit form this tie of learning in other subjects as not all children are acedmic and many have dyslaexa and dyscalucla me included. i think the family issues in our play will be relevant to there age to.

4th of october

We looked at improvisation in out hour lesson and we were thrown into making different objects with our body and scenes. We startred of with making a animal of some sort each taking a different body part we decided to make a snail.
this then progressed into a assault course then into putting up a tent and sitting in it  to then somthing scary happening outside to going to a party then having a massive brain storm to all staying in one tent to then getting in a airballon and going a supermarket.

i think this helped our overall understanding of space  it helped as we could imagine the space we had and picture ourselves in those scenes i noticed by changing the scene it change the way we moved our bodys and how we spoke this will come in handy for when we do we will rock you and the national theartre peice as both will be in different sixe spaces with a different feel to them  we will also be able to use this technique to imagine a scene say in we will rock you and imagine in our heads like a picture what our charecters would have been like and how they would have moved,

i use this in the dinner scene with our tie performance  i used tv scenes and other real life examples and then brought it in to the peice but starting of with a blank canvas alows this. i think this makes the scene look more realistic and contrasts to out pantomime feel. and shows that we could easily adapt it into somthinng else like a tv diner

3rd of octobre auditon

for my audition for we will rock you and chicago and nattional theartre we had to choose 2 songs contrasing each other. i choose popular from wicked and you must love me from evita . i was originally going to do "i deamed a dream" but voice was still not strong enough after loosing it the week before and i didnt want to make this a problem so i changed the song to somthing i could sing with out showing my voice loss on the higer notes that i can hit.
i pared with grace to do a dueloge we took it in turns in reherdals together to see who would be better at wich part and i felt comfortable with my charecter.

i feel my confidence in this audition for my singing as improved hugy and i only hope this progress will continue though the year im finally starting to enjoy singing. instead of just dance and acting however i still feel my singing could improve and i need to work on not going flat and my volume.

audition techniques

today we looked at whats needed when in a audition and how to get a audition.

- agency
it is very important to hvae a good head shot typically in black and white like this
http://www.spotlight.com/interactive/cv/17/F115285.html i persoanlly have both coloured and black and white. on my agency it consists of my previous paid work of wich i need to update.
i also belong to double l
http://www.doublel.co.uk/
and i also belong to goldmans manegment.
there is also a contact book you can apply for online on amazon with all agents and agencys known.

auditions for musical theartre-
auditions for musical theartre are differet for those for tv work.
i usually wear all black and have my hair down unless i am dancing wich is tied back with no jewlery and leotard and leggings with a tight top to show fitness and correct foot wear i wear minimal makeup as its bad to look like  drag queen. i usually take change of clothes aswell as you should always expect the unexpected by this i mean i take a range of songs i know suited to the style of play im going to i take food and plenty to drink.

auditions for tv -
as i have said expect the unexpected tv auditions can either be a personal short interview and quick shots with a brief act of a scene or can be entirely done infront of a camra for this i give my profile my side view and then say my name and begin. i have been to auditions were i have been cuing for hours and in some cases never to be seen. i have learnt that tv is more about how you look and may fit the role than your actual talent theres no point going for a indian charecter if your white with blue eyes i have aslo found if they ask you to bring your own material its better to pick somthing around your age and gender.for a tv aiditon i usualy wear somthing comfortale but pretty and i wear my hair down with highlighting makeup.

dos and donts in a audition-

dos - always be polite and patient in a audition or interwiew
     -    expect the unexpected come preapred
     - always research the peice you are auditioning for
     -   always look enthusiastic and easily aproachable
 donts
  -   dont be bitchy or over intimidating directors want someon who can work in a group

Mike Leigh a well known British director of film and theater. in the 60s  he was a play writer and director for example "nuts in May" . in the mid 70s and 80s his career went into making  films s for bbc television  such as "all or nothing". he won best director in cannes for the film "naked" in 1993.

Leigh doesn't use a script but has a basic scene written down and characters the ideas come more easily with the improvisation of the actors this develops the scene   .he himself works with the actors helping them to get used to improvisation and the character making the character come alive you could say. he tells them to base it on someone that they know well some one with a unique way of walking speaking facial gestures and body actions this makes the character easier to develop.

("The world of the characters and their relationships is brought into existence by discussion and a great amount of improvisation – that i s, improvising a character. And research into anything and everything that will fill out the authenticity of the character." It is only after months of rehearsal, or 'preparing for going out on location to make up a film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Leigh         ',)

13th september

today we did some more improv but with mike lee a director who specialises in improvisation firstly we had to pick three people and write down there charecteriatic habits i chose:

Amy - pouts talks a bit like towie a proper sussex girl struts alot and on the hip bitchy confident confrontational into gossip.
George - pouts shakes his head struts says ok alot confitent runs her hands through his hair quite dramatic sweetie with a nervous laugh
Julie- a typical dancer loud bubbly perky however she hates children ans is quite scary and sarcastic but kind hearten lots of energy struts lot.

we then worked in twos and discussed our characters i worked with grace and we made a combination of all our characters together. as a class we got given a scenario that we were on a coach stuck near the Olympics waiting for the traffic to stop we did this as a improv scene all with our made up characters this was really fun and i really enjoyed it. our constructive comments form Rachel that we need to tone down the drama and me quieter to let the scene take itself along.

musical theatre

we started the lesson with a warm up  and a general chat to see how everyone is and then we started with a exercise called "what are you doing". the game started of with a person frozen in a position either left form the last scene of impro or a new pose to link each scene together creating the structure of each scene it also  gives the second person time to come up  with an idea for a scene.  the game has two  rules : "exception and yes" and the scene must always contain a relationship between the two characters  ad a scenario. the scenes worked best if they were realistic situations and had both characters going with it.
we then  added another person to each scene and the excersis changed to freeze tag now people could freeze a scene if they felt the scene was loosing effort and dragged bit having three people for me changed the dynamics and actually made the give and take a lot harder.

we then got given a map and we had as  a group design our own town we then came up with the basic details of a character, my character was twenty one called maria who owned most of the east side of the village including the hospital shes was quite a snoot stuck up character.
we then had Emily's  character who linked each of the scenes together as a taxi person as she goes round she stops at different scenes whilst the rest of us stayed in freeze frames in character.
our scene was about me being stuffy to a employee and telling i want impressed by scene included Maisie  Emily and Ben.

i have learnt that is is difficult to think on the spot but i really enjoy freeze tag the feeling of  being spontaneous  i have learnt im confident enough to put my self forward instead of being picked i also learnt that improv is give and take and you have to just go with the scene also giving the other person some control to. i  know this will help in the long run to ease any nerves about mucking up and i think it will also help with cews at the end of then sentences making sure the pace of the scene keeps going, the pace in a scene means everything as it can make ascene go from being fun and exciting to unrelistic and uncomfortable.
my strength - im good at thinking on the spot and charecterisation
my weakness - i need to go for more realistic situations instead of creating drama because this can make a scene run out of ideas.
